Business & Marketplace

The Business and Marketplace Committee will organize brown bag committee meetings and panel discussions regarding intellectual property as a facilitator of business success.  We will ask private practitioners and in-house counsel to share strategies and practices that produced quality IP that, in turn, provided identifiable business success.   Meetings and discussions will generally address questions such as:

  • How does quality IP demonstrably contribute to business success?
  • What is the business case for quality IP from the client and law firm perspectives?
  • How is the New England intellectual property marketplace evolving so that firms, companies and universities can better collaborate to achieve quality IP?
  • What are the current market trends and metrics that measure intellectual property law as a business that practitioners should be aware of?
  • What are best practices for private practitioners to market their skill set and how do patent owners market their IP?

BPLA members who are interested and willing to attend brown bag committee meetings or participate in the Committee’s panel discussions are encouraged to contact, at any time, either of the co-chairs regarding these topics and other similar topics.  We look forward to hearing from you.
