The antitrust committee seeks to educate the membership of the association regarding the relationship between intellectual property laws (paticularly the Patent Act) and antitrust laws. Each of these bodies of law seeks to ensure a productive economy. Committee members monitor the activities of the Federal Trade Commission and the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice as they may impact the intellectual property laws. Seminars by members of the FTC and/or the DOJ are arranged to keep the membership up to date on these issues.
