 BPLA Ethics Committee Presents:
Current Topics in IP Ethics

The BPLA Ethics Committee invites you to join us for a discussion of hot ethics issues affecting patent practitioners.
The discussion will be led by Mike McCabe, a leading Washington, D.C.  intellectual property ethics practitioner, and will cover important topics including issue conflicts (e.g., representation of multiple clients who want to take inconsistent legal or policy positions) and practical advice concerning situations involving withdrawal of representation before the Patent Office.  Mike will also provide some insights from real-world experience about how grievances are considered and investigated by the Office of Enrollment and Discipline (OED), including a discussion of a case where he represented a client before the OED, which ultimately resulted in  an OED decision being reversed by the Director of the USPTO.

Mike represents clients nationwide in all aspects of attorney ethics, discipline and professional responsibility, including patent and trademark attorneys, registered patent agents, and other legal professionals from small and large firms.  In addition to a busy practice in the field, Mike is much in demand as a speaker on intellectual property ethics and discipline issues.

Registration: $20

CLE credit will be available.  Please indicate when registering if you would like to obtain CLE credit and for what jurisdiction.
